1. IF YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN YOU NEED TO GO TO CHURCH! “How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14).
2. GOD COMMANDS EVERYONE TO WORSHIP HIM! “Then Jesus said...’It is written, You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve,’” Mat. 4:10.
3. JESUS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE. “As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day,” Luke 14:6. If Jesus is a good example for people to follow, why is He not a good example when it comes to going to church?
4. EVERY CHRISTIAN WENT TO CHURCH! You have probably heard it said, “You don’t have to go to church to be a Christian!” Really? Hebrews 10:25 says “Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some is.” “The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved... And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers,” Acts 2:47, 42.
5. JESUS LOVED THE CHURCH. Eph. 5:25 says “Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.” If Jesus loved the church, shouldn’t you?
6. JESUS GIVES PASTORS AND TEACHERS TO BUILD UP CHRISTIANS. Eph. 4:11-12, “And He Himself gave pastors and teachers for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Jesus calls men into the ministry to faithfully proclaim God’s Word in order that your mind may be renewed and your life transformed.
7. THE CHURCH PROVIDES BIBLICAL ANSWERS FOR LIFE’S PROBLEMS. Communities and families are crumbling all around us today. Our nation is in moral and social chaos. Parents are concerned for their children and their future. The ultimate problems of life cannot be solved by government, laws, money, or even education. Our root problems are spiritual! The Bible provides the real answers for problems in our society, marriage and parenting, finances, depression, prejudice, etc.
8. CHRISTIANS ARE TO REMEMBER CHRIST IN THE LORD’S SUPPER. Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper telling us to do this in remembrance of Him, proclaiming His death until He comes again, Luke 22:19. Christians come together as a church, the body of Christ, to partake of the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Him, I Cor. 11:17ff.
9. CHRISTIANS NEED THE FELLOWSHIP OF OTHER CHRISTIANS. 1 Corinthians 12:26-27, “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” Christians are the family of God, brothers and sisters. We share one another’s joys and burdens in love; we build up one another, are examples to one another, and encourage one another.
10. JESUS IS COMING AGAIN FOR HIS BRIDE, THE CHURCH! Just as only those who were in Noah’s ark during the flood were saved, so only those who are in Christ and in His church will be saved when He returns.
